Obituary for John R. Stauffer

John R. Stauffer of Doylestown, PA passed away peacefully from natural causes at Pine Run Health Center on Friday, March 8, 2019. He was 92.

Born August 23,1926 in Scranton, PA; the son of Emily (Gerhard) and Amos Stauffer. John met his wife, Isabella (McCormick), at Drexel University after he served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. They both graduated and were married the following Valentine’s Day for 57 years. John and Isabella lived at Duane Village in Edison, PA. Both were very active in Doylestown United Methodist Church for several years and also volunteered at Doylestown Hospital. John retired as Financial Controller at the Daily Intelligencer after working there since 1954. John was a member of Rolling Hills United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his late brother’s wife (Kathy), his Niece (Vickie) and her extended family. Lee passed away September, 2017. John has two daughters Martha Mack; widowed from Bill, and Emilee Suppers (Joe). John’s Grandchildren are Joe Suppers (Renelle) and Angela Suppers. He has two Great Grandsons: Elijah and Smith Suppers. John is survived by his late cousin Paul’s family, Lori Christenson (Chuck) and her extended family; they live in Buckingham. Also surviving are his late cousin Hap’s family, Lori Mitzel and her family.

Services will be private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
