Obituary for John W. Whelan

John W. Whelan of Kintnersville, PA passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Pine Run Health Center, Doylestown, PA. He was 91.

Born in Philadelphia, PA he resided in Churchville, PA and Doylestown, PA before his move to Kintnersville in 2019.

John was a mechanist and worked for Rohm & Haas Chemical Company for many, many years. In his free time he enjoyed reading, doing word search puzzles, relaxing by the pool and being with pets. He also loved anything Snoopy. John was a proud Freemason, and a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church. John also served in the Navy aboard the USS Tumult AM – 127, a mine sweeper during the Korean War.

He was the beloved husband of the late Doris Whelan; cherished father of Marjorie Whelan, the late John David Whelan and father in law to Blair B. Walter and Susan Bryan. Father of step son Bryan Young. Loving brother of Mary Hawthorne, and eight late siblings; dearest grandfather of Bryanna and Christian Young; and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Masonic Lodge # 295 would be greatly appreciated.

HE WAS A GREAT GUY TALKED WITH HIM ON HIS JOB MANY TIMES ALWAYS UPBEAT HAD A FISH TANK IN IN HIS OFFICE CAUGHT FISH FROM THE CREEK AND RASIED THEM IN IT HE WILL GREATLY MISSED SO SAD
