To Joy's Family:
Please accept my sincere condolences at your loss. Joy was one of my oldest friends, beginning in elementary school when she accompanied her mother to Hydetown school activities. The first time I saw Joy, she was wearing a velvet coat and carrying a muff. How fitting -- Joy's voice and her demeanor were like velvet. After graduation, we went in different directions. When the attached photo was taken, I was abroad pursuing French studies. Joy was making music with her students. We shared other reunions, however. She will be remembered as a lovely, loving woman who was a soloist for our Class Night during our senior year, 1956.

The end of an era. Joy was my roommate at Mansfield for my Senior year 1958 - 59. There were 4 of us that roomed together that year. We had so much fun. Joy had a beautiful voice that was especially displayed when she sang the role of the mother in "Amahl and the Night Visitors".
