Obituary for Rita M. Derricks

Rita M. Derricks (nee Williams) of Hatboro, PA (formerly Buckingham, PA), passed away March 6, 2021 in her home, Wesley Enhanced Living, Hatboro, PA surrounded by her family. She was 90.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Joseph and Anna (nee Winterling) Williams.

She was a former Health Clerk at Glenside Weldon Elementary School. She was also very socially active. She was a bowler with Ellwood and belong to the Red Hat Society. After moving to Wesley, she participated in every activity offered and because of her sense of humor she quickly became part of the “Trouble Makers Group”. However, her primary passion was her family. She was always excited and happiest when children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren visited.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Ellwood and was a devoted mother to her five children, Ellwood G. and wife Deborah, Michael and wife Carolyn, James and wife Maryanne, Mark and wife Lisa, John and wife Judy. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Cremation services were private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to The V Foundation for Cancer Research (https://v.org) 14600 Weston Parkway Cary, NC 27513 would be appreciated.
