Obituary for Rose Matarese

Rose Matarese passed quickly and peacefully in Doylestown, PA on Monday, December 16, 2019.

Rose is survived by her beloved son Richard Matarese, daughter-in -law Susan, granddaughters Meredith and Melissa Matarese and her cherished great-grand daughters Kayla and Scarlett Matarese of Doylestown, PA.

Rose was born on April, 24 1925 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Anthony and Anna Panacola. She grew up and married her one and only sweetheart, Andrew Matarese in Brooklyn, New York in 1948. Together they lived a happy life and created their pride and joy, son, Richard Matarese. They retired to Palm Coast Florida where Andrew passed in 1991. In 2004 Rose moved back north to Pennsylvania to be closer to family.

Rose was a light-hearted, fun loving, 94 year old women who always had a smile on her face and a song in her heart. She lived on her own in a community that she loved right up till the end. She was independent, strong, and had a beautiful voice that she used to entertain her loved ones and her community. She sang in choirs and performed in theater groups. Family, music, sunshine, animals and cannolis where her favorite things.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Varco-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Saturday, December 21, 2019 with a Visitation Hour from 2pm-3pm, Service from 3pm-4pm.

Please remember that Rose was a beam of light that loved bright colors, hated black and absolutely loved a celebration, so please join us with joy in your hearts this Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
