I met Zita & Tom in the early 1960's. My house was right behind their family farm in Hatboro. My dad was friends with Helen Lojeski. When my parents bought me a pony in 1963 I was able to board it in Helens stable with the other horse & pony. I was on the farm everyday. I met and became good friends with Connie. I was 9 yrs old, she was 6. We would play and have fun. I thought ZIta was the coolest mom. And when she thanked me for being a good friend to Connie I didn't get it. We were kids and we're having fun. When Connie got sick we did whatever we could and still laughed and had a good time. When the hospital bed was put in her bedroom I remember pulling up a chair and stood on it to talk to her and hold her hand. When she passed away I was heartbroken. I still went to the farm everyday to take care of Beauty and would stop by and talk to Zita. She was always baking something and it was delicious! Jackie & Chris were young and a handful so I would hang around and help her out. I eventually started babysitting them. They were family to me, and in my wedding March 20, 1971. Chris was the ring bearer and Jackie the flower girl. Zita the great seamstress she was, made Jackie's dress. Those were best years growing up. Below is a pic of Chris & Jackie on their backyard swing set.
